The volumes contain copies of commissions issued to those individuals who had been elected to either state or county office 1936 to 1937 and 1940 to 1943. Each certificate specifies the name of the person being commissioned; the office title; the term of office; the name of the Governor and Secretary of State; and occasionally the date of filing of oath and bond by the commissioned officer. The State and County Directories (Series 1284) serve as an index to this series. It is not known why these certificates were filed separate from the regular Records of Commission (Series 1285).
